• Have you ever felt like the devil was laughing at you? Maybe you have prayed for something and the door you thought would open slammed shut in your face. Or maybe you thought things were getting better and then they got worse. It can feel like the devil is just sitting there laughing in your face. I myself have felt this way before.

The truth is, though the devil may be laughing now, in the end he is the one who loses the fight. That’s because God has already won the fight. When Jesus died on the cross for our sins, the devil thought he had won. However, three days later, Jesus rose from the dead, and the devil was defeated. So in times when you think the devil is winning, just remember that in the end, God wins again and again.

There may be trials that are hard, and you don’t understand why you have to go through them, but when you get through the trial, you are much closer to God and gain wisdom from it. Romans 5:3-4 says, “And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope.”

  • “Keep watch and pray, so that you will not give in to temptation. For the spirit is willing, but the body is weak!”” Matthew‬ ‭26‬:‭41‬ ‭NLT

‬‬Temptation is our human urge to sin. Everyone has felt temptation before because none of us are perfect, and we are all human. When we feel temptation, it is actually spirit fighting flesh. Spirit is one with God, and flesh lives in the ways of the world. This world we live in is not pure. Evil exists in this world because only Heaven is perfect. The stronger your relationship is with God, the less likely you are to want to sin. The more you live in this world, the easier it is to sin and sometimes not even care that you did.

The best way to fight temptation is by praying to God regularly, reading your Bible, and worshiping God. God will take away your evil desires and replace them with pure, godly desires. All you have to do is invite Him in and ask. The more you surround yourself with godly things, the easier it is to know what is from God and what is of this world. It is not always easy, but as long as you have God by your side, you will be just fine.

  • “For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime! Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes in the morning.” Psalms 30:5 NLT

Whatever you are going through right now, know that God is with you, and He will never leave your side. If today has been hard, just know that tomorrow is a new day! Every morning, the sun will rise, and the night’s darkness will fade. Each day is a gift from God! So rejoice and be glad in it! Something I have been doing to help me appreciate this gift is thanking Him as soon as I wake up. This starts your day in gratitude, but most importantly, it starts your day by talking to God first.
